Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Halloween event, Howl-O-Scream, is to return next month with two new haunted houses, five scare zones and thrill rides which will be ‘infected’ with roaming creatures of the night.

New haunted houses include the ‘Undead Arena: Live’ which will see visitors enter a post-apocalyptic world where survivors are divided into The Worthy and The Unworthy. As The Unworthy and stars of this gruesome event, guests must make their way through the gauntlet, invaded with Brain Eaters, with no guarantee that the group will stay together. Also new and constructed above a vortex of otherworldly energies, the abandoned Sterling Manor holds a series of portals in ‘Demented Dimensions’. Each room and hallway will lead guests to a different universe, where the rules of our world do not apply and escape is nearly impossible!

The park’s scare zones have been amped up for this year with new additions the eerie ‘Carnie Camp’ and cannibalistic ‘Meat Market’ both running alongside the post-apocalyptic ‘Wasteland’ and paranormal ‘Playground’. Also new for this year an abandoned schoolhouse-inspired scare zone with a name chosen by Facebook fans.

The scares will continue on the park’s top thrill rides in the dark, including new spin coaster Cobra’s Curse, with any empty seats filled by flesh eating zombies and spine-chilling creatures. The Halloween event will run on select nights from September 22 to October 29 with operating hours between 07:30 and 01:00.
