Geckos Adventures is now offering trips exclusively to 18 to 39 year-olds, making it the first small group adventure tour operator for younger travellers.

The Melbourne-based adventure travel company has made the decision following feedback from travellers who say they want to travel with people their own age.

The company's managing director, James Thornton, said: “Our customers in their 20s and 30s have told us that they want to feel like they are travelling with a small group of friends to explore a destination - and that they want to travel with people their own age. We’ve listened to this feedback and identified an opportunity in the market.
“The Geckos’ style of travel is perfect for younger travellers who aren’t interested in the ‘big party bus’ style of group travel out there. Our trips are for a younger crowd of discerning travellers, who are looking for local experiences on small group trips with like-minded people.”

The change will apply to trips in 2015, with 18-39 year-old trips highlighted in the brochure release later this year. The company will also increase trip frequency by adding more departures for the 18 to 39 year-old trips, giving travellers more choice on dates.
