Gear up for a summer trip to remember at The York Dungeon

The York Dungeon has been completely revamped from bottom to top, with new scripts, sets and state-of-the-art special effects following a ?1million investment.

Visitors can immerse themselves into a world-first bloody Viking battle in a new interactive show, Vengeance of the Vikings, where guests can get to know the torturous techniques used on Saxons, including public blood-eagling and a viper pit.

Guests are also taken on an expedition through 2,000 years of dark and murky history, coming face to face with rebellious rogues and learning all about York?s history. Plus guests also have the chance to come face to face with Guy Fawkes, born and educated in York, and find out how his plot was foiled and what happened to this gunpowder plotter when he was caught.

Visitors are taken through 12 live interactive shows and are put to the test by the witches, torturer, courtroom judge and the plague doctor that they meet along the way.

Senses will be on fire as guests see, hear and even smell the horrible history that comes to life around them.
