Ffestiniog Travel has published a preview of its 2014 escorted tours programme.
Featuring several new itineraries, both in the UK and further afield, the six-page, pre-brochure also offers a glimpse of the company's ‘Around the World Anniversary Tour’ – specially arranged to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary next year.
Departing on April 28 from St Pancras, the special tour offers a 40-day itinerary that journeys across the Northern Hemisphere. Highlights include European city visits to Frankfurt, Vienna, Warsaw and Moscow; a ten-day journey on the Trans-Siberian Express; a bullet train ride from Beijing to Shanghai; and escorted excursions to the Great Wall of China, Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City.
Following a flight to Vancouver and time to explore the city, the rail journey continues on the Rocky Mountaineer for a Goldleaf journey to Kamloops, before visiting the national parks of Banff and Jasper, and taking an Ice Explorer tour on to the Athabasca Glacier. Another famous train – Via Rail’s The Canadian – takes travellers on a three-night journey through the Prairies, Saskatoon and onwards to Winnipeg before reaching Sioux Country and onwards to Toronto. The tour’s final destination is New York for a three-night stay, sightseeing and a farewell dinner.
Prices lead in at £15,000 per person, based on two sharing including First Class rail tickets (whenever possible), journeys on the Trans-Siberian, Rocky Mountaineer and The Canadian, flights, accommodation, excursions, transfers, welcome & farewell dinners, plus the services of a tour leader. Shorter duration itineraries can also be created within the framework of the full tour.
