Kirker Holidays has launched its 2011 Christmas Markets brochure, featuring 20 of Europe’s most atmospheric destinations during the festive period.
New for this year the operator has introduced Nuremburg and Lyon to its selection of seasonal short breaks. Nuremburg’s Christmas market, set in the heart of the city’s old town, is open from November 25 until December 24 and offers more than 200 stalls selling a choice of authentic handicrafts and traditional delicacies.
In Lyon, visitors can head to the Place Carnot (from November 29-December 24) where colourful wooden chalets display gastronomic gifts alongside arts and crafts from the Rhône-Alpes region.
The brochure offers a selection of accommodation, ranging from three-star properties to five-star deluxe hotels, many of which are currently available with additional free nights.
Prices start from £335 per person for a two-night break to Brussels, staying at the four-star superior Hotel Metropole. Based on two sharing, the price includes breakfast accommodation, Standard Class travel on Eurostar and guide notes to restaurants and sightseeing.
A festive short break in new destination Nuremburg starts from £749 per person including three nights’ breakfast accommodation at the four-star Le Meridien Grand, flights from London and private transfers, while short breaks in Lyon lead in at £629 on the same basis, staying at the three-star superior Grand Hotel des Terreaux.
