Cosmos tours TajMahal

Explore India's diverse culture with Cosmos

Cosmos tells agents to bank on India's colourful and diverse culture to sell holidays.

The escorted tours operator looks to help agents in recommending value getaways suit individual customer needs while its sister company Globus offers premium touring holidays.

Apart from showcasing the ‘bucket list’ sites, the operator says, agents should highlight that the tours are designed to let customers delve deeper into the real India to enjoy adventures and activities such as meeting the desert tribes of Rajasthan and learning how to cook traditional meals.

With tour-only prices starting from just £599 per person, agents are urged to highlight that India is more affordable and accessible than holidaymakers think.

Escape to India’s Golden Triangle

Available as a tour-only or flight inclusive package, the India Escape takes in the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur and includes stays in centrally located hotels with VIP access to must-see sights. Highlights include the Taj Mahal at sunrise, a rickshaw ride through Delhi’s Chandni Chowk bazaar and the chance to see how the legendary Rajput kings lived in the Amber Fort.

India Escape is priced from £599 per person tour only, based on an April 16, 2019, departure. For a flight inclusive package, the price rises to £1,099 per person. Departure dates available throughout April and September 2019.

Discover northern India

In selling 13-day Highlights of Northern India tour, agents should focus on pulling out the showpiece experiences which include the opportunity to see Emperor Humayun’s ancient tomb, Qutub Minar in Delhi, wander the grand palaces of the Jodhpur, meet the Bishnoi tribe of Rajasthan to learn how they protect the flora and fauna of northern India through traditions that date back 500 years, and take a boat trip on Udaipur’s Lake Pichola for spectacular views of the City Palace Museum, famous for its traditional miniature art.

With departures between February 2019 and March 2020, the tour with flights, private home pick-up service and overseas transfers is priced from £1,606 per person (based on September 15, 2019 departure)

Premium travel

For customers looking for a more luxury experience, agents should recommend Globus’ 11-day premium Icons of India: The Taj, Tigers and Beyond tour. This tour includes ‘Local Favourite’ experiences, VIP access to top attractions while staying in top-rated hotels near the major sights. Later, a private safari in northern India’s Ranthambore National Park provides the opportunity to spot Bengal tigers, black sloth bears, langur monkeys, sambar deer and leopards. A chef-led curry cookery class and dinner with an Indian noble family in Jaipur, an interactive sari and turban-tying demonstration are the other highlights.

With departures between October 2019 and March 2020, Icons of India: The Taj, Tigers & Beyond tour with flights, private home pick-up service and overseas transfers is priced from £2,262 per person (based on October 13, 2019 departure).

The new complimentary CosmosGO app gives customers access to a range of suggestions for entertainment, sightseeing, dining and shopping.
