Experience one of the world’s best wreck – June 23-30, 2014.
The MS Zenobia was a Swedish built ferry that sank off the coast of Larnaca in Cyprus in June 1980 on her maiden voyage. A long-time favourite of scuba-divers, the new ‘Zenobia’ week at the end of June will let non-divers experience the wreck, as well as offering a series of events, seminars and exhibitions that will appeal to both divers and non-divers.
During the week there is an opportunity to take a free 45-minute cruise with a glass bottom boat to see the Zenobia without diving; there are also 20% discounts on diving sessions to the wreck including a wreck speciality course, plus competitions including a free dive contest and an underwater photography competition with prizes.
Seminars include a ‘safety and decompression’ and a ‘developing a diving destination of excellence’ seminar’s, plus there is an exhibition with original items from the Zenobia and an underwater scooters demonstration with a chance to try this after. The web site www.zenobiaweek.com details all the events plus will have a live link of images from the Zenobia.
Accommodation nearby includes the four-star Palm Beach Hotel & Bungalows located on the coast just outside of Larnaca. This long-established hotel has been extensively refurbished and rooms, family bungalows and suites upgraded.
