Mashatu?s resident giants include the world?s largest mammal, tallest mammal, largest antelope, largest bird and heaviest flying bird. Mashatu also offers more than 700 elephants ? Africa?s largest population on private land and is a birders? paradise with more than 350 species.
The reserve encompasses 72,000 acres of wilderness in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve in Eastern Botswana. Bordering South Africa and Zimbabwe, it forms the heart of the proposed Greater Mapungubwe Transfrontier Conservation Area, famous for its Iron Age ruins of 900AD.
Mashatu offers the exclusive Mashatu Tented Camp which features eightensuite tents and Mashatu Main Camp which has 14 air-conditioned suites that each accommodate up to four people sharing. Both camps are located in the bush and offer a swimming pool, bar, terrace, lounge, dining area and boma. Mashatu Main Camp welcomes children of all ages and offers a specialised programme as well as a unique Discovery Room that entertains and educates young visitors.?
