Deccan Dreams, part of Pyramid Holiday Tours in India’s state of Karnataka, has launched an eco-conservation and nature tourism programme aimed at preserving local customs and traditions and protecting wildlife sanctuaries.

Visitors will learn about the Tiger Conservation project undertaken by the Department of Forest and Environment , with a ‘hands on’ learning experience and a choice of conservation activities in the destination’s tiger reserves.

Visitors can also observe and help preserve local heritage and handicrafts by visiting local communities and participating in folk festivals and handicraft skills.

Other tours offer visitors the chance to visit elephant sanctuaries, learning about their behaviour and interacting with them at feeding times and joining in with elephant baths in the river.
