Today (3 May), more than 600 delegates gathered at the 2011 ACE UK Cruise Convention in Southampton, the largest cruise event of the year.

This three day event (3-5 May) will see agents attend business seminars, watch debates between the industries top representations and enjoy up to five ships visits including Cunard’s newly launched Queen Elizabeth.

Today’s speakers included Jan Swartz, EVP Customer Service Sales & Marketing for Princess Cruises, and Andy Stuart, EVP Global Sales and Passenger Services for Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Flo Powell, Director of ACE said: “We are introducing a number of new elements into the 2011 ACE UK Cruise Convention following the great feedback received last year. The opening day of the Convention will be specifically for owners, managers and ACE Ambassadors to give them the opportunity to meet key industry representatives and hear the very latest news and trends. Also new for 2011 are pre-bookable meetings for delegates to take place during the trade fair.”

Flo continued: “With cruise ships providing excellent venues, agents will see more seminars being held onboard including ones dedicated to the niche sectors within the industry such as river, expedition and small ship cruising. This year will be the fifth anniversary of the ACE UK Cruise Convention and it represents the ultimate event in the cruise calendar for agents.”
