Cox & Kings introduces collection of tours to European film locations

With the increased popularity of certain genres of television and films, increasing numbers of viewers are looking to travel to locations filmed in their favourite films or television shows.

Cox & Kings is capitalising on this trend by offering a range of holidays focusing on locations that have been used from seminal films such The Godfather to modern day dramas like The Bridge and Borgen.

As examples, In the Footsteps of Inspector Montalbano is a three-night self-drive journey from ?595, which visits the region of Sicily that inspired author Andrea Camilleri's detective novels about Inspector Montalbano. The itinerary visits the main locations from the book and series, including the settings for the fictional town of Vig?ta and Montelusa.

In the Footsteps of Borgen and Broen is a three-night private tour to Copenhagen and leads in at ?1,195. This includes a visit to Borgen ? nickname for Christiansborg Palace ? where the Danish government sits, as well as driving across the Oresund link to Malmo. Part underwater tunnel and par cable-stayed bridge, this is where the opening scene of Broen ? the Bridge ? was filmed.

Meanwhile,  In the Footsteps of The Godfather is a five-night private tour to Sicily and costs from ?1,715, including three nights in the coastal town of Taormina and two nights in the capital Palermo. The trip visits locations where the films were set including Corleone, birthplace of the principal family in Mario Puzo?s novels, with its museum dedicated to the mafia, and Bar Vitelli, one of Coppola?s favourite spots.

All prices are per person and include flights from London, private transfers, excursions and breakfast accommodation.
