Cosmos Tours & Cruises is confident of a return of interest in its North Africa and Middle East programme after the recent political unrest had a negative effect on bookings and has launched its 2012 programme featuring a selection of new tours and cruises in the region.

New tours include an eight-day ‘Egyptian Sinai and Petra’ tour with a five-night  resort stay at Naama Bay on the Gulf of Aqaba, and visits to the Sinai desert and Jordan’s city of Petra.

Also new is an eight-day ‘Grand Tour of Israel’ that takes in the Holy Land, Nazareth, Dead Sea and ancient Jerusalem. Prices are from £1,345 per person including flights, seven nights' breakfast accommodation, some meals and a range of guided sightseeing.

Meanwhile, the company's ‘Highlights of Morocco’ tour has seen an encouraging increase in bookings for 2011/12 with sales climbing towards the level of this time last year. An early booking offer includes a free two-night extension in Marrakech on selected departures subject to availability and free parking at Dover for all passengers joining at the port. The single supplement is also waived on selected departures of the tour (subject to availability) representing a saving of up to £225.

The ten-day tour costs from £675 per person in 2012 to include flights, nine nights' half-board accommodation, transfers and a range of guided sightseeing. Tour extentions are available with a three-night stay in Agadir from £216 per person.
