Corporate travel growth from Travel Counsellors

Travel Counsellors announced significant growth and future developments for its Travel Management Division at its recent Business Travel Conference.

Speaking to 100 of the company?s corporate travel specialists at the event, held at Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC, managing director Steve Byrne revealed that the division has grown on average by more than 30% over the last four years, with corporate travel turnover growing to more than ?100m in 2013.

The company now has more than 100 consultants specialising purely in business travel, and a further 200 working in both the corporate and leisure travel arena, with this division now accounting for half of the growth of the business overall over the past four years.

Byrne said: ?Business travel offers a strategic opportunity for growth and our agents are presented with significant potential to reshape the future of business travel in the UK. Connecting emotionally with clients and providing a personal concierge service that saves the client time and money will form the cornerstone of success for business travel in the future, and the agents that do this well are those that have an assured future.?
To further build on its growing business travel division, the company is continuing to heavily invest in the technology offered to its corporate agents. This was highlighted during IT director Paul Speakman?s presentation when he revealed a range of new improvements to the company?s dynamic packaging system, Phenix, including newly branded and designed documentation which is fully integrated into the system to streamline the booking process, making it more personal and bespoke to clients.
