Club Med unveils La Pointe aux Canonniers in Mauritius post renovation

Club Med, has unveiled details of its renovated La Pointe aux Canonniers resort.

As one of three resorts operated by the company in Mauritius, La Pointe aux Canonniers is located on a peninsula at the northern tip of the island, surrounded by un-spoilt, picturesque white coral sand beaches. The resort also benefits from crystal clear waters, nearby forests and mountainous areas and a number of championship golf courses on its doorstep.

Opened in 1972, the resort has been a popular choice for guests for its all-year round tropical climate. It has undergone major renovation and extension of its existing property to include 108 new Superior rooms, a new Beach Lounge, and La belle Créole, serving up fresh and local produce daily.

While families can still make the most of the kids’ clubs running from four months to 17 years with a whole host of land and watersport activities on offer, children can now also enjoy the new family pool area – boasting slides and water cannons. For adults seeking a bit more relaxation, guests can unwind in the new spa by Cinq Mondes or at the oceanfront Zen adults-only area with infinity pool, dedicated bar and a calm beach access.

The resort features open-plan architecture and thatched roof huts. While the new interior reflects a contemporary and colourful design.

Estelle Giraudeau, managing director, Club Med UK and Northern Europe, said: “We are delighted to announce the renovation of our much-loved La Pointe aux Canonniers resort. Mauritius is an incredibly popular destination with our UK customers, and we hope families and couples alike will continue to enjoy this tropical paradise in the comfort and luxury of the resort’s new infrastructure and design.”

Prices start from £5,705 for a family of four departing from London.
