City Cruises River Thames Commemoration Cruise

City Cruises heads to the River Thames in remembrance of Sir Winston Churchill.

City Cruises  will be taking part in a River Thames procession to commemorate Sir Winston Churchill on January 30.

50 years ago, on January 30, 1965, the MV Havengore carried Sir Winston Churchill?s coffin from Tower Pier to Festival Pier as part of his state funeral. This year the journey is being re-created to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of this occasion, and City Cruises? will be joining in procession, following the Havengore from a respectful distance, and giving Londoners and tourists the opportunity to take part in this tribute to England?s most famous Prime Minister.

Whilst on board, passengers will be served a very British Afternoon Tea. Cruises leave at 12:15pm from St Katherine?s pier and return at 3pm. Standard adult ticket costs ?49 per person and adult window ticket costs ?59 per person.

City Cruises will be donating ?5 of every ticket purchased to the Winston?s Wish Charity. Those also wishing to make a contribution in Churchill?s honour can do so via Winston?s Wish Charity website.
