Norfolkline is highlighting the various Christmas markets in Brussels and France for families seeking a more affordable and comfortable way of travelling to travel, with prices starting from £19 each way for a car and up to four passengers and including all taxes and surcharges.

The ferry company, which operates a direct Dover to Dunkirk route in less than two hours, says that unlike flights, clients can pack as much as they want and are not restricted by luggage charges.


Some of the company’s recommendations include a trip to Lille Christmas market which is open from November 18 to December 30.

Children can take a ride on the giant Ferris wheel and have their photograph taken with Father Christmas.

The Bruges Christmas market runs from November 24 to December 31 and features an ice-rink.

Brusells market also features an ice-rink which runs from November 27 to January 3, 2010.
