Said Sarah Flook, press & marketing manager for Champagne-Ardenne, said: “We have worked with Cathryn Hicks & Doug Goodman for more than 3 years and as they have fulfilled our brief very successfully our board of directors has awarded a further 3 year contract”.
The tourist board brief is to enhance awareness of the region in the UK market, promoting historical and tourist sites and events, cultural and leisure activities and the culinary delights of the area, including of course Champagne itself.
Champagne-Ardenne offers visitors two contrasting destinations. Famed for its sparkling wine, vineyards and chalk cellars, La Champagne is also rich in history and heritage, while in the north of the region, L'Ardenne is renowned for the natural beauty of its landscapes and river valleys and charcuterie specialities.
The main focus for 2015 will be on the application for UNESCO heritage status for the unique champagne landscapes and culture, ongoing commemorations for WW1, city short breaks, ideas for stopping off en route to more distant destinations and some niche areas such as motorcycling and bird-watching breaks.
