Celestyal Cruises has announced the launch of its 2016 themed cruise programme, which comprises more than 800 different activities and events throughout the entire 2016 cruise season under three individual themes: Stories of Greek Culture and Heritage, Stories of Greek Summer Festival and Stories of Greek Enogastronomy, each to be 'told' for three months, with each cruise 'dressed' according to the current theme.
Stories of Greek culture and heritage during March, April and May will include bespoke theatrical performances and unique cultural events, including some prepared exclusively for the line and performed by the famed Lyceum Club of Greek Women.
In June, July and August, Stories of Greek Summer Festival will honour the summer festivals of ancient Greece with theatrical performances, concerts by traditional and Greek pop singers, Greek films, parties with Greek DJs and a science festival.
For the third and final segment of its Stories of Greek Hospitality, the company has arranged hundreds of events to give its passengers the opportunity to explore the authentic taste of Greece – passengers will sample more than 40 Greek cheeses, as well as a plethora of Greek wines and spirits and signature Greek dishes, some of which they will learn how to cook. T
he first themed cruise will cover Greek Mythology on a four-day Aegean itinerary, departing Athens on March 21 and visiting five Greek islands, with prices leading in at £309 per person.
