Blue Air is adding two new routes to its UK network, connecting Birmingham and Luton to the city of Cluj-Napoca, in the heart of Transylvania.

The airline will commence flights from Birmingham to Cluj-Napoca from December 16, operating on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from Luton on March 26, 2017 on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The region of Transylvania is one of the most spectacular in Romania, with Cluj-Napoca being its unofficial capital. The city offers a diverse cultural scene with events such as the Transylvania International Film Festival and Transylvania Jazz Festival, and landmarks that date to Saxon and Hungarian rule.

Excluding hold baggage, prices with the airline start from £24.99 one-way including all taxes.

Meanwhile, the airline is to launch four new routes from Liverpool John Lennon airport next summer - to Rome, Milan, Hamburg and Alicante.
