Next year marks 50 years since Bales took its first group tour to the Holyland, and the operator is celebrating its anniversary with the launch of a new Escorted Small Groups and Tailor Made Holidays Brochure for 2011/12.

The programme covers 50 destinations throughout Asia, Africa, the Orient, Latin America, Egypt and Arabia, India and Canada & Alaska, while Australasia has a dedicated online brochure. A few countries are making a return including Sri Lanka and Myanmar and a number of new tours and suggested journeys, as well as the new Heritage Collection which gives travellers a taste of the company's most iconic escorted tours, are featured.

As an example of prices, an eight-day Heritage Tour of Jordan departs on September 10, 2011 and includes stays in Amman, Petra and a private desert camp at Wadi Rum.

The itinerary includes visits to the Royal Society of the Conservation of Nature, a cocktail reception and a preview of the new Jordan Museum, dinner at a winery in Amman and a farewell meal with local dignitaries. It costs £1,995 per person and includes transfers, sightseeing, flights, accommodation and most meals.
