In-flight sales of Attraction World products are now live with Thomas Cook Airlines in mainland Spain, Portugal and Turkey, with more destinations set to follow.

The in-flight sales technology that ties in with the onboard retail systems took six months to pull together with Alpha Flight Group who manage the in-flight retail for Thomas Cook Airlines. It means that passengers on board certain flights can book tickets to key parks and attractions and take advantage of the benefits of pre-booking.
The operator sees this as another channel for capturing sales but is keen to remind agents that they have first access to the customers and the first chance to make the booking.

The company's national sales manager, Nick Hughes, said: “Take Siam Park as an example – only 9% of ticket sales from the UK are pre-booked. This means 91% fly without pre-buying and this new development is simply a way of mopping up missed opportunities. There are so many benefits of buying tickets in advance - customers can enter the park using their smart phone, queue jump with their e-ticket which in peak season can save lots of valuable time and they can go any day they want whilst away so hugely flexible and there are no paper tickets to lose! I cannot encourage agents enough to do all they can to capture some of the market.”
