Avalon Waterways’ suite ship, ‘Expression’ took part in the recent celebrations for Holland’s national holiday ‘King’s Day’ on April 27.

The Grand Parade, a naval review featuring a number of historic and modern ships sailed past King Willem-Alexander and the Dutch royal family as well as local crowds at Dordrecht in the province of South Holland.

To join in the celebrations during the sail-past, all the passengers aboard the ship were given orange T-shirts to wear by the Dordrecht based shipyard Den Breejen, responsible for building all the line’s suite ships in the fleet.

Avalon Expression will sail the newly introduced 8-day ‘Charms of Holland & Belgium’ cruise for departures during 2016.

Next year will see two suite ships added to the fleet; Avalon Passion and Avalon Imagery II bringing the total to 12.
