Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) has launched a competition to find the UK’s best collection of holiday memorabilia.
The operator is encouraging the nation to share photos of weird and wonderful holiday keepsakes on its Facebook page, and has offered a £200 voucher that can be used on various holiday services from airport parking to hotels for the overall winner.
A survey of more than 1000 travellers found 52% collected more than ten items of holiday tat. Men were the most obsessive collectors, with almost a quarter (23%) owning in excess of 20 items, compared with just 15% of women hoarding an equivalent figure.
Fridge magnets hit the top spot with six out of ten respondents admitting to having them in their collection. The traditional postcard came second by stamping its authority on proceedings with 50%, followed by tea-towels wiping up the competition in third with 48%.

1. Fridge magnets - 61%
2. Postcards - 50%
3. Tea towels - 48%
4. Small items of crockery (e.g. mugs or plates) - 47%
