Roger Allard, executive chairman, All Leisure Group – owners of Discover Egypt small discovery ships Swan Hellenic, Voyages of Discovery and Hebridean Island Cruises - is starting the New Year with a pledge to lose 6 kgs by 28 January; in support of the Just a Drop Help for Haiti campaign - www.justgiving.com/Roger-AllardAllard’s target is to raise £10,000 for the water-aid charity which aims to help change the future of the people of Haiti, who are still suffering the effects of the disaster exactly one year on this week.
Just A Drop strives to reduce child mortality in developing countries caused by polluted water diseases like dysentery, cholera and diarrhoea – all with the help of public donations.
Fiona Jeffery, chairman, Just A Drop added: “We are over the moon to hear that Roger will be helping Just A Drop at the start of our fundraising year. Every donation we receive helps in the fight against water-related diseases and we look forward to supporting Roger in his aim to raise £10,000 over the next couple of months.”
Just Help Haiti, launched by Just a Drop and Roger Allard on behalf of the industry immediately after the earthquake, has raised £155,000 and counting.
Roger Allard, executive chairman, All Leisure Group added: “Just A Drop is a fantastic charity which I am delighted to be supporting. Everyone will be on the New Year healthy eating bandwagon and I saw this as a great opportunity to join them while raising money for such a worthwhile organisation at the same time.”
Donating through JustGiving is simple and you can be assured that your details will be kept safe. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
