AITO tour operators and agents will gather at two highly-focused overseas conferences in the summer and winter of 2013.
The association’s summer overseas conference will take place in June next year and will focus on three key themes - the retail environment, how best to maximise the unique benefit of relationships between AITO Tour Operators and AITO Specialist Travel Agents and a careful analysis of consumer aspirations for travel in 2013 and beyond.
The destination of the summer overseas conference will be announced at the AITO Specialist Travel Agents’ domestic conference 2013 (taking place at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire on January 12-13).
Oliver Broad, chairman of AITO Agents, said: “With so much going on in the retail environment, we are providing our AITO agent members and their AITO tour operator agency sales’ teams with a whole conference dedicated to developing new initiatives and discussing issues.”
The association's winter overseas conference will take place in November, with its venue set to be revealed later next year. It will focus on three key different issues – how to run an entrepreneurial and profitable travel business, how to choose the right travel suppliers, destinations and experiences to inspire new and repeat customers and how to optimise online technology for more effective operations and marketing.
The new two-conference format means that members can focus more on the issues that directly affect them and their teams - from sales and networking, to the development of product and industry issues. Although the summer conference will particularly appeal to AITO Specialist Travel Agents, AITO expects to take bookings from operators, agents and affiliates for either or both conferences based on their specific interests, with preferential rates on offer for those who elect to attend both.
