From winter 2013/14, airberlin is increasing the number of flights it operates to Russia.

The airline will fly twice daily from Berlin to St. Petersburg in the winter, and on its popular Berlin-Moscow route, the carrier will increase the number of services on offer by one additional flight weekly to a total of 14.

The airline's chief commercial officer Paul Gregorowitsch said: "Russia is a key strategic market for airberlin. By introducing this expanded service we are reacting to the increased demand for flights to and from Russia and strengthening our position. We now offer our guests a consistent year-round service and provide excellent connections via Berlin. With this expansion we are particularly strengthening our service between Berlin and St. Petersburg."
