Just a short hop from the UK, Guernsey is home to Britain’s cleanest beach, the world's smallest chapel, the Little Chapel, a capital - St Peter Port - said to be the prettiest harbour town in Europe, and 28 miles of picturesque coastline.
From the long stretches of white sandy beaches to the rugged cliffs, Guernsey's ever-changing environment is a haven for lovers of the great outdoors. Walking, cycling, kayaking, and coasteering are just some of the ways to explore the island. For an ‘island-hopping’ experience, the islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm are a short boat or flight away.

Visitors can experience what life was like during the Occupation of the island during World War Two at the island’s many heritage sites dedicated to the period. The Occupation provided the backdrop to the international bestseller and subsequent film, ‘The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society’.
Adding in some of the freshest seafood in British waters, Guernsey offers short breaks and holidays for all types of traveller, from cultural short breaks, to outdoor adventures and family beach holidays, all at less than an hour’s flight, or a ferry ride, from the UK.

The island is connected by air with direct flights from no less than 15 regional airports in the UK, including new routes this year from Bournemouth and Edinburgh with Loganair, and from Liverpool and Southend with Blue Islands. For those that don’t want to fly, visitors can travel to Guernsey by ferry from Poole (three hours) and Portsmouth (seven hours) with Condor.
Don’t forget that since Guernsey is part of the British Isles, those travelling from the UK don’t need a passport (just photo ID is required) and while we have our own bank notes, we use the British pound sterling, so no currency exchange is required.
